Sally Roberts trained as a nurse in Bath and then moved straight to London to St Thomas Hospital before midwifery training at St Marys’ Hospital Paddington. Once qualified, she then worked as a midwife in the Homerton, Edgeware, Chelsea and Westminster and Hillingdon hospitals in a variety of midwifery roles from high risk, labour ward coordinator to 1: 1 homebirth team lead.

Whilst on maternity leave, she moved to Suffolk and changed direction to “family planning”. Here, she developed the East Suffolk Contraception Outreach services, becoming East Suffolk Contraception Lead Nurse and then on to Consultant Nurse in Waveny and Great Yarmouth.

Now working part-time in General Practice providing contraception, LARC fitting, sexual health and Menopause services, she also teaches: the FSRH diploma, letters of competence for both Implants and IUT in addition to a variety of reproductive health courses for health professionals.
